When we decided to invest in another cabin in the Duck Creek area we wanted to have new construction primarily because we searched existing properties and wanted to have a second home built to our specifications rather than purchase someone else’s design. We were also concerned that living 200 miles away from our build site we would really need to have confidence in whoever we chose to be our contractor.
After many hours searching on the internet, visiting existing cabins, and personally interviewing builders on the mountain and viewing their constructed cabins, we selected Steve Ashworth and Dual-A Construction. Our first impression of Steve was one of a stable, professional that had years of experience in construction, both on Cedar Mountain and in Cedar city. We reviewed his existing projects and were impressed by the quality of workmanship and attention to detail. After we agreed on a design and budget we were shown various parcels of land and Steve spent a great deal of time with us explaining the positives and negatives of each. After selecting the property, papers were signed and we left the mountain in November and did not return until early April. Steve was able to seal the cabin to the weather prior to December and completed the project in May, two months ahead of schedule. We are extremely pleased with all aspects of our build. Steve held to our original budget, if there were any modifications in the design we received a call with a comprehensive explanation including additional costs, if any. He was able to forward color choices, paint samples, and information on the appliances for us to make any final selections. Perhaps the most positive aspect of this whole effort was his continued follow-up after we took delivery. We can contact him with questions and he is quick to respond.
He has provided us with much assistance in gaining knowledge of the area and making the time we spend on the mountain extremely pleasant.
It is without reservation we recommend Steve and Dual-A Construction to anyone interested in building in the Cedar City/Cedar Mountain area.
